For the Biscuits

  • 1 can refrigerated biscuits or

  • 8 homemade biscuits (baked according to recipe)

Step 1: Cook the Sausage

  1. In a large skillet over medium heat, cook sausage until browned and fully cooked.

  2. Do not drain the fat unless excessiveโ€”this is flavor gold.

Step 2: Make the Roux

  1. Reduce heat to medium-low.

  2. Sprinkle flour evenly over the sausage.

  3. Stir continuously for 1โ€“2 minutes until the flour absorbs the fat and turns lightly golden.

Step 3: Add Milk

  1. Slowly pour in warm milk while stirring.

  2. Bring to a gentle simmer.

  3. Cook 5โ€“7 minutes, stirring often, until thick and creamy.

Step 4: Infuse the Gravy

  1. In a small bowl, melt the 2 tbsp butter.

  2. Stir in your measured RSO or distillate until fully dissolved.

  3. Remove gravy from heat and gently fold in the infused butter.
